We’re looking for a qualified, experienced and ambitious member to join the local Controlling Team of 5 people in Munich.
HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?
* Reporting to the Head of Controlling, the Financial Controller (m/f/d) supports the business in all financial aspects providing guidance to Senior Management, local and regional teams. The Controller will be the key partner and contact in the budgeting, forecasting and project management portion of the Maison. By providing qualitative analysis and advise to the Maison’s Senior Management, you’ll will be working largely autonomously on a variety of commercial and strategic driven scenarios, designed to maximize the Maison’s profitability and desirability.
Reporting & Finance
* Ownership of monthly closing process (communicating accruals to accounting, P&L maintenance and reconciliation
* Work with local accounting Team to ensure the accuracy of financial statements incl. Balance Sheet
* Ownership of the Brand: P&L (monthly), Balance Sheet (quarterly + hard closes), and appendices. In particular, follow up the differences between Actual vs. Forecast with local and regional Team
* Assist in purchase order process and monthly follow-up as well as strong support to various departments and operational users
Budget & Plan
* Provide detailed monthly analysis of sales by channel, costs by cost center and by cost type (staff expenses, communications expenses and other expenses)
* Cost control responsibility and recommend action plan for budget control
* Preparation of Budget and Revision in accordance with group requirements and timetable
* Participate in the preparation of the 3-year plan, Budgets and Forecasts
Business Development
* Participate in the preparation of boutique business cases and opening plans
* Participate in ad hoc business reviews with Management
* Assist various departments and boutiques in ad-hoc business and finance control projects
Compliance & Improvement
* Involvement in internal audits and stock analysis (Inventory Checks)
* Contribution of own ideas and participation in projects, e.g., process optimization, efficiency improvements, compliance enhancements, introduction of new tools, and implementation of best practices.
HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US?
* Completed degree in economics or business administration and at least 5 years of professional experience in controlling within an international company in the consumer, retail, or trade sector
Strong IT affinity with solid MS Office skills (especially Excel/PowerPoint), SAP experience, and familiarity with Business Warehouse applications (BI/BOA)
* Very good German and English skills.
* IFRS knowledge and a strong understanding of balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
* Team player with excellent communication and organizational skills, capable of independently collaborating with various stakeholders in a matrix structure based on trust.
* Resilience and a high level of commitment.
* Strong analytical mindset: well-developed conceptual thinking, precise working style, ability to effectively set priorities, and strong problem-solving skills.
* Customer orientation: excellent understanding of commercial contexts and the ability to communicate as a business partner at eye level with brand management.
