Description JOB DESCRIPTION: Newmark is growing around the world. We are seeking an expert practitioner with experience in leading multiple major projects and delivering capabilities, tools and processes to be Director of the Newmark Advantage (Consulting Strategy Solutions) practice in Europe. Based in Germany, you will lead and work with a team of local consultants and analysts, with an emphasis on growing / developing/delivering our market-leading specialties in location strategy, site selection, footprint optimization, and economic incentives advisory capabilities. You will also work with other Newmark global consulting leaders to help position the Newmark Advantage brand and Consulting practice for continued growth and success in Europe. The position day-to-day will focus on serving clients across all industries, asset types, and levels of maturity; as they access markets, optimize their supply chains, develop new products, improve operational performance and implement unique location strategies on a global basis. To be successful in this role you must work collaboratively with our service line leaders, subject matter experts and Newmark's extensive brokerage network to develop industry-leading analytical and problem-solving frameworks. You will play a key role in cultivating client relationships (both directly and via internal Newmark networks) and leveraging personal networks that strengthen the pipeline of large project opportunities. You will be responsible for leading Newmark’s contribution in major project client engagements, developing solutions and building capabilities as an impact-oriented problem solver. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Identify, Sell, Lead Projects Collaborate with global leadership to develop a strategy to lead and grow the European practice, with an emphasis on supporting our market-leading specialties in location strategy, site selection, and economic incentives advisory capabilities Sell, manage and participate in external assignments with clients direct to market; occasionally support key corporate services accounts; and support the company’s broad and vast broker relationships to deliver value driven solutions and recommendations Proactively seek out new opportunities and prospects, identifies new business opportunities, and support broker business development. Work closely with our practice leaders and senior consultants, across multiple functions and geographies, to target a variety of advisory opportunities and support business development and sales in Europe and the Middle East where appropriate Write winning location strategy and economic incentives advisory proposals, with clear narrative, strong description of services and associated modelling of fees Develop and cultivate client relationships to earn status as a trusted advisor on consulting and technology needs Build relationships with global colleagues across channels and geographies to advance client interests and practice area objectives Document, report, and present technical work for hand-over to clients Lead written deliverable development and presentations to clients to support recommendations and opportunities, strong data visualization skills Monitor regional project budgets, personal / team utilization, profitability targets as well as oversee billing and fee management Build Eminence Publish cutting-edge articles on a broad range of location strategy / site selection, labor analytics, incentives and related, topics; shaping debates and leading discussions internally and externally Represent location strategy, site selection, and economic incentives (as well as the whole of Newmark Advantage) at conferences and speak on trends, innovative ideas that we are developing Conduct primary and secondary research for business development and project support Develop the Practice regularly participate in industry events by speaking, presenting and/or writing to enhance the workplace platform’s thought leadership and build awareness of Newmark Develop client and potential client and practice strategies, go-to-market positioning and leadership Provide support for general projects and client account management, as needed, across multiple asset types (e.g. office, industrial) Bring new ideas and thinking to client work and internal processes & operations Be willing to perform other duties as assigned Adhere to all set company and client policies and procedures; lead by example Develop Others Recruit, develop, mentor, support, and direct staff to help them achieve not only client goals but personal development goals Promote and supports diversity of all kinds SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines: Urban & Regional Planning, Supply Chain Operations, Economics/Business/Finance, Geography, Engineering Minimum of 7 years of experience in a business, corporate or management consultancy organization You will be visible and active in the market with experience in sales and business development and have made demonstratable contributions towards business growth You will be a thought leader and have written thought provoking industry articles on location strategy, site selection, labor analytics, incentives and or other related topics You have a strong attitude and aptitude to day to day client service, teamwork, and quality control and development of compelling data driven solutions You will demonstrate critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment Your written and verbal communication skills will be excellent enabling you to articulate and deliver complex concepts and findings to an executive audience Strong interpersonal, team-building skills; outstanding integrity, initiative, creativity/innovation, and passion Ability to work independently; lead and guide teams focused on specific work streams of large projects Experience in multinational projects preferred English essential, native Polish capable, other languages are desirable Experience in Real Estate knowledge desirable Understanding of broad corporate real estate drivers, including footprint and portfolio optimization, labor market analytics and knowledge of the mechanics and impact of economic incentives Proficiency with technology and client service tools; PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Word; special recognition given to proficiency in project management and process mapping tools and certifications Familiarity and basic working knowledge of business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, GIS, QlikView and CRE Navigator) desirable This role will require up to 25% European travel NOTE: The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified.
