Hauptaufgaben Performs a variety of operation, maintenance and repair on different types of utility systems which includes large central or single fuel oil-/natural gas-/liquid gas-/wood-fired heating plants, low/high temperature, low/high pressure heating plants, hot water/steam systems, radiator/floor/radiant heating systems, hot air b1ower/ventilation systems, domestic hot water generation systems, solar heating systems, primary/secondary heat transfer stations, district heating systems/network, air handling/air conditioning systems, vehicle exhaust and sanitation systems. Activates, deactivates, fills, vents, drains systems and ensures save operation of all plants and systems. Maintains and repairs oil or liquid gas tanks, pipes, pressure gauges, temperature/pressure control devices, safety devices, oil burner assembly, oil/gas/wood fired boilers, hot water generators, thermostats, electric/electronic control devices/panels, pumps including pump control, full automatic wood feed and de-ash systems, pressure control and booster stations, heat exchangers, solar heat panels, energy/flow meters, air handling systems, ventilators, air conditioning systems, filters, belts, humidifying systems, pipe nets, heating manholes, shut off valves, backflow prevention valves, pressure/flow regulating valves, air dampers, fire dampers and flaps. Locates broken, worn, damaged or poorly operating equipment, fixtures or parts. Removes, replaces, cleans, repacks and seals defective parts and equipment of utility, supply and disposal systems such as broken tile pipes, leaky drains, joints, fixtures, traps and faucets. Cuts, bends and threads pipe and tile, caulks such items as elbows, union joints, Hooks up to installed systems water heaters, urinals, kitchen ranges, wash basins, etc. Tests installed parts and equipment for proper and safe operation. Disassembles equipment, locates defective parts and makes necessary adjustments and repairs by removing and replacing worn and damaged parts or components. Uses the typical tools of the trade, such as electronic test equipment, pipe wrenches, hand and power threaders, rulers, hacksaws, etc. Applies trades methods and techniques; reads layout drawings; and makes simple mathematical calculations. Reads and reports energy/water meters, chemical consumption, and fuel oil/natural gas/liquid gas/wood consumption; updates logbooks. Repairs and maintains hot and cold water treatment systems, takes water samples from boilers, primary and secondary heating systems, humidity systems makes a variety of water and air quality tests to assure correct consistence of boiler water or conditioned air in accordance with technical standards. Takes corrective actions if water/air tests indicate that treatment needs to be changed or adjusted. Performs other duties as assigned.
