Our client, a leading manufacturing company based in North Rhine Westphalia, Germany, with a strong commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainability, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Accounting and Consolidation Team Lead to join their dynamic finance team and play a pivotal role in their financial operations.
Job Description:
As the Accounting and Consolidation Team Lead, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the accounting and financial consolidation functions within the organisation. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data and reports, and you will work closely with a team of professionals to drive efficiency and compliance in financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Financial Reporting: Prepare and oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with HGB and IFRS.
* Consolidation: Lead the financial consolidation process for the organisation, ensuring the accurate aggregation of financial data from various subsidiaries and business units.
* Team Management : Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work and professional growth.
* Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve accounting and consolidation processes, implementing best practices, and leveraging technology to enhance efficiency.
* Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting regulations, standards, and company policies.
* Intercompany Transactions: Oversee intercompany transactions, reconciliation, and settlement processes to maintain balanced accounts.
* Audit Support: Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate the audit process and provide necessary documentation and information.
* Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as tax, legal, and operations, to ensure alignment on financial matters.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
* Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or CMA) is highly desirable.
* 3+ years of accounting and consolidation experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team lead role.
* In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
* Proficiency in consolidation software and accounting ERP systems
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy.
* Fluency in German and English
* Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
