Role Summary:
The National Sales Lead plays a critical role in driving the commercial success of the current and future portfolio for rare diseases. This role involves leading the national sales team, developing the national sales strategy, building and nurturing key customer relationships, and ensuring the seamless execution of strategic initiatives to optimize product performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the national sales strategy in alignment with the company's overall goals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, medical, and market access) to create and implement effective commercial initiatives. Analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and ensure optimal resource allocation.
* Sales Management: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team. Set clear objectives, monitor performance, and provide actionable feedback to ensure team success. Drive sales excellence through innovative approaches and best practices.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, patient advocacy groups, and key opinion leaders. Represent the company at key events, conferences, and meetings. Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
* Market Insights: Stay informed about the competitive landscape, treatment guidelines, and healthcare policy changes. Provide insights to the senior management team to support strategic decision-making.
* Compliance and Governance: Ensure all sales activities adhere to ethical standards, industry regulations, and corporate compliance policies. Conduct regular training to keep the team updated on compliance guidelines.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Education and Experience: Degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus. Experience in pharmaceutical sales, field-sales management, marketing, and extensive experience in a leadership role and people management. Proven track record in specialty pharmaceutical markets is highly desirable.
* Key Competencies: Strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans. Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team management skills. Strong relationship-building and negotiation abilities. Data-driven decision-making and analytical skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
