Job Description
The Financial Accountant will support Finance Manager for timely delivery of statutory accounts, financial accounting and reporting and will oversee internal controls, intercompany, treasury and tax areas ensuring compliance with US and German GAAP. The successful candidate will be based in Germany, Frankfurt. Other office locations Kaiserslautern and Essen will be in scope of this position.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support Finance Manager to ensure local statutory accounts and tax returns are prepared on time
* Support the statutory audits and ongoing tax audit
* Primary point of contact for external accountants, statutory auditors and external tax consultants
* Support Finance Manager by actively coordinating Oracle month end activities including reporting within small group of accountants (2 currently), according to US GAAP
* Coordinate the R2R monthly closing and Group reporting
* Ensure the company complies with AECOM internal controls
* Monitor that the activities transitioned to Manila are running smoothly
* Liaison with Shared Service Centers (Manila and Bucharest) for payments and invoice processing
* Drive the improvements of processes for accounting processes and statutory accounting
* Identify areas for improvement in the local B/S reconciliations and drive improvement
* Support monitor cash management & forecasting and liaison with Treasury department
* Liaise closely with Tax team to manage the transfer pricing analysis and any other tax matters
* Assist with any ad hoc requests from the finance and operational team

* Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required
Required Experience
* Minimum of 6 years’ experience in similar role, preferably in a multinational environment
* Excellent written and spoken English and Germany is essential
* Excellent Microsoft Office Excel Skills
* Ability to work to tight deadlines in an accurate manner
* Excellent numeracy skills
* Ability to work as part of a wider team and with remote teams
* Excellent analytical organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
Desired Experience
* Experience with Oracle is preferred
* Practical experience of US group audit or a US reporting environment
