Randstad has been given the opportunity to support one of our key clients in the Transport and Logistics market for Melbourne, in their search for an operations Supervisor for their Victorian business.
About the company
Located in Melbourne's North-West suburbs, Our client is a well known organisation that is currently looking for an experienced Transport Operations Supervisor to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in an environment where ongoing development is highly encouraged.
The Opportunity
As the Transport Operations Supervisor some of the responsibilities required to perform but not limited to are:
1. Daily management of the business to achieve planned/budgeted KPIs, cost outcomes, safety measures, and service levels
2. Performing quality checks on materials/stock and identify and report damages, shortages, or quality deficiencies
3. Foster and enhance a culture that takes pride in its performance, delivery and work environment and seeks to continually improve
4. Working alongside Truck Drivers and Operations Support areas to ensure the operation of the shift runs according to plan
5. Maintain strong relationships with internal & external customers to ensure high standards of service delivery.
6. Ensure a high level of compliance with OH&S requirements and enhance an organised and clean working environment.
7. Keeping updated records of inventory and activity logs
8. Ensuring the efficient, safe, and secure loading, unloading, movement and packing of merchandise/materials/stock
Skills & experience
To be considered for this role you must possess the following:
9. A minimum of three years experience in a similar position.
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
11. Possesses a problem-solving mentality and analytical nature.
12. Ability to work in a fast paced environment and make decisions promptly
13. A Team Player who sees the value in supporting all parts of the business
14. Knowledge & Experience with CoR regulations and Compliance relating to the transport industry
15. Must have knowledge of FMCG transport operations
16. Forklift License (Desirable)
17. A high level of motivation and energy with a strong focus on achieving outstanding customer experience results
18. Competence with Microsoft Programs
19. Background in express and general freight preferable
