Security Shift Supervisor (m/f/d) - Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg
The Security Shift Supervisor will supervise, organize, and evaluate the work of the security staff. The Supervisor will lead the day-to-day activities of their assigned shift and ensure productivity in alignment with policy and procedure.
Reporting to a Security Manager, this position will ensure compliance with enterprise-wide security policies, drive security strategy, oversee security operations, and manage security risk. The role will ensure business alignment, effective governance, operational efficiency, and performance monitoring and measurement. The role is key in establishing a proactive, consultative, and business-aligned approach to Tesla Security.
What You’ll Do
* Manage and mentor internal as well as contracted security professionals. Regularly set objectives and deliverables for self and security officers. Provide feedback on staff performance to the security manager.
* Ensure team members are enrolled and complete companywide training courses, security specific courses, and conducting daily briefings to security members. Create and implement policies and procedures to support the local and global security program. Deliver security training and awareness programs to employees.
* Forecast security officer scheduling, uniforms and ensure to deal with demands and peaks according to business requirements. Provide on-going security recommendations during design, construction, and any type of site refresh.
* Drive digital business transformation by identifying and supporting adoption of new technologies and tools. Oversee physical security systems and controls.
* Establish projections for and reconcile security spends, minimizing variance between projected and actual spend, driving efficiencies to create a financially sustainable security practice.
* Proactively identify, develop, and implement additional security strategies to meet the unique needs of the Tesla business. Support the design and implement security mitigations, which are cost-effective and meet the needs of our business partners.
* Act as point of contact in an emergency or critical circumstance developing the emergency response plan for a range of security incidents at the site. Support and manage vendor relationships including key performance tracking, accountability, and cost effectiveness.
What You’ll Bring
* 5+ years of security experience with at least two years as a people manager.
* Experience in a Security function managing large sites, corporate, or manufacturing environment is desirable.
* CPP, PSP or equivalent certifications are a plus.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German.
* Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols. Experience with access control, surveillance, and other security systems.
* Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Office 365).
* Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as operational need dictates and be able to travel domestically regularly. Some international travel may also be required.
