Job Purpose
The Costing Officer will be a key member of the Divisional Finance Team, responsible for providing offers to the Commercial Team of the Unit Dosing and Powders divisions, offering relevant insights. The role also involves profitability management, identifying areas for improvement, and conducting various financial analyses.
Your Responsibilities
* Provide costing evaluations for new business tenders, cost analysis, existing or new product development, and other product quotations to ensure the division makes the best operational and commercial decisions.
* Offer strategic support to Key Account Managers, the Head of Sales, and the Commercial Director, helping them decide on pricing based on solid analysis and independent insights.
* Assist the Contracts Team with financial analysis and prepare quarterly open book costing updates .
* Monitor margin policies and price escalation rules, ensuring compliance with the financial authorization matrix. Verify that the final pricing shared with customers is correctly reflected in internal tools (e.g., the running offer file), and once a deal is closed, ensure the correct pricing is maintained in SAP .
* Maintain the costing system for Unit Dosing and Powders across all production plants (e.g., YNSC/YSTD costing runs, moving average price checks, cost set verification, BOM checks, etc.).
* Support profitability and growth by assisting Marketing Managers, providing financial analysis and "what-if" scenarios .
* Assist Finance Business Partners by preparing benchmark analyses and offering insights into the current vs. future financial situation.
* Analyze Customer P&L reports, identify key profitability drivers, and provide recommendations to improve margins and assess long-term trends.
* Continuously seek to improve financial and business processes through automation, simplification, enhanced insights, and stronger financial controls. Always challenge the status quo and offer the business more robust solutions.
* Support the implementation of new systems that the company may adopt in the future.
* Provide ad hoc support based on requests from the Commercial Team, Finance Team, or Unit Dosing/Powders Leadership Team .
Skills and Qualifications
* Fluent in English
* Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel
* Experience with SAP Finance and Commercial modules
* Strong understanding of commercial processes and their financial impact
