Job Description:
In this position within SC&L, you lead the site logistics team, oversee and manage the day-to-day operations and manage the site related third party logistics (3PL) contracts. You are accountable for safety, compliance, costs, operational performance and investments. Furthermore you are responsible for the development, implementation and execution of long term and short term strategic and tactical logistics for COV at site and managed 3rd parties.
You are responsible for the following:
1. All of Brunsbüttel site and site related production logistics from raw material receipt, over product filling and warehousing up to product dispatch, including site truck access, harbor ship loading, railcar access and on-site management.
2. Site related Supply Chain planning.
3. Responsible in the plant management role for two logistics plants and the harbor tank farm.
4. Drive the site operation team as well as the managed 3PL contractors to continuously improve the performance on safety, reliability, and productivity; take ownership on necessary logistics asset management.
5. Ensure collaboration with plant managers (m/f/d) and Integrated Planning/ Trading Clusters to support annual target production output without loss.
6. Manage exceptions and emergencies.
7. Establish and implement best practices and resilient logistics operations on site.
8. Follow up incidents with RCA’s and corrective actions as necessary. Drive and support HAZOPs.
9. Ensure fulfilment of agreed KPIs: Safety, OTIF (on time in full delivery to the customers), Logistics cost, Inventory & stock accuracy, Customer claims, Productivity, Sustainability target, etc.
10. Take responsibility in the Caretaker role (LCM) for managed 3PL contracts and ensure correct invoice control.
11. Report with L-line into site manager organization. Includes amongst others permit, compliance, labour law topics and site regulations.
12. Build up and maintain network for supply chain & logistics topics and contribute to regional and global supply chain and logistics meetings.
WHAT YOU OFFER
1. You hold a Bachelor or Master degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Chemistry or Engineering.
2. You have experience in Chemical manufacturing operation and more than 12 years’ experience in supply chain topics, especially in area of on-site logistic operations, transportation & warehouse management, LSP management, etc.
3. We require more than 5 years management experience in leading a team in a line organization.
4. You have solid knowledge on logistics 3PL- and contract management and experience in developing and leveraging contractor relationships.
5. Your profile shows a track record of high flexibility and change management skills.
6. Good knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements associated with logistics characterizes you.
7. We require excellent communication, interpersonal, networking and collaboration skills.
8. You have the ability to think strategically, prioritize, organize, deal with ambiguity, develop personnel, and manage conflicts.
9. Demonstrated leadership skills, driving a high performance and result-oriented culture is very important.
10. You are familiar with S & OP (Sales & Operation Planning) and SAP/ TMS/ WMS.
11. Fluent skills in English and German round off your profile.
