About Kipu Quantum
Kipu Quantum is a German startup focused on quantum computing, with offices in Karlsruhe and Berlin. We specialize in developing quantum algorithms tailored for specific applications and hardware. Our solutions help various industries, including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, logistics, and finance, to tackle complex problems using existing quantum hardware. We aim to make practical quantum computing accessible by significantly reducing the time needed to achieve quantum advantage for real-world applications.
In December 2023, Kipu Quantum successfully raised €10.5 million in a seed funding round led by HV Capital and DeepTech & Climate Fonds. This funding will support the development of our hardware-specific quantum algorithms and accelerate the commercialization of our quantum solutions.
Your role
As an Account Manager (m/f/d) / Account Executive (m/f/d) at Kipu Quantum, you will play a crucial role in driving the growth of our innovative quantum computing startup. Your primary mission is to develop and execute our Go-to-Market strategy, manage client relationships, and identify new business opportunities to expand our presence in the quantum computing industry.
This position is ideal for a motivated professional who manages complex deals, navigates technically sophisticated products, and collaborates with cross-functional teams. You will oversee the entire sales process - from prospecting and discovery to closing deals and expanding accounts - always with the support of our technical experts.
You will focus on building strong relationships with key decision-makers in target industries such as finance, pharmaceuticals, logistics, and energy, helping them unlock the potential of quantum computing. At Kipu, your creativity, project management skills, and strategic thinking will directly impact our growth trajectory.
Your responsibilities
* International lead generation (inbound and outbound activities) with a focus on EMEA and North American markets
* Development and execution of a comprehensive sales strategy, aligning with Kipu's goals
* Drive the entire sales cycle of our products, including MVPs (algorithms as a service, platform memberships) and Proof of Concept (PoC) projects
* Build strong relationships with executives, R&D specialists, and project managers at target organizations, positioning Kipu's products as essential to their innovation strategies
* Provide hands-on client support and guidance to clients during the PoC phases, ensuring smooth transitions into long-term, revenue-generating contracts
* Collaborate closely with our technical teams, marketing, and legal specialists to align on client needs and contribute valuable insights to the product roadmap
* Create engaging client-facing materials and maintain up-to-date records in our CRM system to support data-driven decision-making
* At least two years of sales experience in an early-stage startup or deep-tech environment, with a proven track record of managing and closing complex deals (with sales cycles ranging from 3 to 12 months and deal sizes between €50,000 and €500,000)
* Completed studies in economics (e.g. business administration, sales, business development, marketing) or science (e.g. Physics, Chemistry, Material Science) or comparable qualifications
* Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect effectively with clients, partners, and stakeholders at all levels
* True startup mindset: You are hands-on, adaptable, and ready to take on multiple roles within a dynamic and growing team
* Strong advantage but not required: Experience in the international quantum computing or software sector industry
* Excellent proficiency in English (C2 level). German (C1–C2 level) is a significant plus
