As a Senior Engagement Manager, you will manage internal AWS, external partner, and customer teams. You will drive engagements and focus on AWS solutions to help customers and partners remove constraints and accelerate their journey to AWS. In this role, you will plan, organize, and manage all phases of a project lifecycle to ensure successful delivery. This includes developing and managing project governance plans, project schedules, team goals, project milestones, budgets, and defining success criteria.
In this role, you will guide individuals, teams, or multiple groups to analyze project goals, create plans to achieve those goals, and then guide AWS team members, customer stakeholders/SMEs, and potentially other third parties to achieve those goals while understanding the customer environment and addressing any limitations to execution. You will interface with various customers and internal AWS stakeholders which consist of senior leadership teams (C-level execs, SVP/VP, Directors) and project-level resources such as SMEs and influence, negotiate, resolve conflicts and achieve results through others who are not direct reports.
Key Job Responsibilities
1. Experience leveraging formal project management and development methodologies on enterprise-level engagements.
2. Possesses a deep knowledge of project management best practices and how to apply them in an effective yet pragmatic way across complex software projects.
3. Understand technology principles and services of a cloud platform including infrastructure, business applications, data management, security, application platforms, and consumer-facing technology.
4. Ability to apply strategic thinking and demonstrate understanding of requirements to execute.
5. Ability to make decisions guided by policies, procedures, and business plans with limited guidance.
6. Lead presales opportunities as well as project extensions.
7. Plan, organize, and manage all phases of a project lifecycle to ensure successful delivery. This includes developing and managing project governance plans, project schedules, team goals, defining success criteria, project milestones, and budgets.
8. Ability to take ownership, work under pressure, and meet deadlines on time.
9. Ability to challenge, recommend, and redirect teams as well as manage client expectations during the engagement.
Minimum Qualifications
* Multiple years of experience leading software projects using Agile at scale.
* Experience leading other project managers to deliver a program with multiple and concurrent projects.
* Experience preparing business reports and presenting results to C-level executives (CIO, CEO, CTO, CISO, etc.) as well as to technical subject matter experts.
* Fluency in German.
