Apply Now Job Opening Title: Transportation Specialist Location: Kaiserslautern, Germany Start Date: Dec 2024 Job-Type: Full Time Job Overview The United States Army Medical Materiel Center-Europe’s (USAMMCE) mission is to provide the best medical logistics support to the U.S. European Command. USAMMCE’s missions also include out-of-sector support to the Department of State Humanitarian Assistance Program, the U.S. Central Command in Southwest Asia, and AFRICOM. The Transportation Specialist processes material for movement using government systems and procedures. Prepares cargo, and documents, and schedules movement of products and equipment destined for multiple locations nationally and internationally. Education/Degree: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Certification: N/A Experience: Knowledge and Skills: Able to read, write, speak, and understand English Being able to understand German is preferred. Able to pass a background check. Be computer literate. Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to) : Work under the direct supervision of the transportation manager and other transportation specialists, assisting in preparing contracted transportation via Air and Ground. Coordinate with local transportation agencies and services to properly load, secure, safeguard, and confirm delivery of cargo. Work closely with the packing section in processing small parcel shipments, utilizing government automated systems to request transportation quotes and spot bids. Able to certify cargo for both Air and Ground movement internationally across Europe, Africa, and Southwest Asia. Able to make and inform hazmat certifiers of any corrections to DA Form 2875.
