Responsibilities
Make an impact:
* Drive the organization’s global data strategy, aligning it with business goals and fostering innovation.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and design scalable data architecture.
* Assess and evaluate data solutions for performance, cost, and security while exploring alternatives.
* Establish data governance policies and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
* Facilitate smooth data migration by developing strategies and mapping processes in collaboration with business units.
* Create a comprehensive data strategy that defines data management, retention, and classification.
* Take ownership of the data infrastructure, ensuring its maintenance, optimization, and security.
* Support business units by providing guidance on data access, querying, and analysis.
* Serve as the primary contact for data-related inquiries and facilitate efficient data utilization.
Application Requirements
What you need to succeed:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
* Minimum 3 years of experience in setting a data strategy from the ground level and productizing or monetizing data-driven applications or components.
* Strong expertise in data modeling, ETL (Extract Transform Load) processes, and data warehousing.
* Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), MS Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
* Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
* Demonstrated ability to drive business value from data and enable the business to achieve new outcomes.
* Strong proficiency in English; German is a plus.
* Regular presence in our Germany/Dortmund office for at least 3 days per week, but also willingness to occasionally travel to other Swisslog offices.
