The Advanced Carbon Conversion Technologies department is now offering a thesis on the topic of “Implementation and evaluation of test campaigns on a pyrolysis plant to optimize the plant parameters with regard to the oil yield as part of the EU project ‘SEAFAIRER’.
The finite nature of fossil fuels is increasingly forcing a rethink in energy policy. Fossil fuels can be replaced through the intensive use of biogenic residues. In order to drive this development forward, a promising new pyrolysis technology for the conversion of biogenic residues into high-quality energy sources such as biochar, hydrogen-rich synthesis gases and bio-crude oils is being operated and optimized as part of the European funding project Seafairer. The main focus of this thesis is the implementation and evaluation of the test campaigns with various feedstocks at the VINTER conversion plant as well as optimization measures within the scope of the project.
