We are seeking a visionary Head of Engineering to lead our talented engineering teams. This role requires a blend of technical acumen, leadership skills, and a passion for innovation. As Head of Engineering, you will oversee all engineering activities, ensure project milestones are met, and drive the strategic direction of our technology development. You will help by providing technical direction and ongoing leadership for a department dedicated to driving a program at the core of the corporate strategy - in close collaboration with the Head of Product. Your tasks Lead and manage engineering teams, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure their success. You will collaborate with company leadership on shaping our company engineering culture. Close collaboration with Product and Architecture to align our technical execution with our business needs. Mentor, coach and support individuals in their personal and professional growth. Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive, caring feedback. Foster a positive engineering culture and share best practices. Collaborate with our recruiting team to attract and retain top engineering talent. Advocate for and implement best practices in engineering methodologies and technologies Drive technical initiatives and improve engineering practices. Your experience You have a proven track record of leading Engineers and taking management responsibility, ideally in a fast-changing, high-paced environment. You are able to make clear decisions taking both business and technical aspects into account. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to handle challenging conversations. Clear and persuasive writing and in-person communication in English, German is not a must rather a plus. Your technical experience allows you to contribute to technical conversations and decision-making. We work a lot with Java, GCP, Kubernetes and Github, so specific experience in these areas is a plus. Nice to have: You have worked in building scaled platforms (1000s of requests per second) in the cloud.
