The Center for Advanced Systems Understanding (CASUS) is a German-Polish research center for data-intensive digital systems research.
CASUS is looking for a IT Administrator (f/m/d). The position is initially limited to 2 years, afterwards we are interested in a continued employment.
Your tasks
* IT administration of personal PCs / laptops running Windows, Mac OS, and Linux as well as the institute network
* Maintenance and administration of the institute's IT services, in particular the virtualization cluster running Proxmox
* Strategic planing and development of the IT services in cooperation with HZDR's IT department
* Working with basic IT services and administrative processes at the HZDR
* Hardware and software procurements together with the procurement department, planning of resources and necessary procurements
* Implementation of IT security directions and measures according to the IT security officer of HZDR
* Support for CASUS members with all IT questions and problems
* Solution of critical IT problems
Your profile
* Completed BA/FH degree in the field of computer science or comparable respectively completed vocational training as an IT specialist (f/m/d) for application development or system integration or comparable
* Professional experience in IT support in a comparable or larger IT environment
* Interested in design, maintenance and development of hardware and software solutions
* Autonomous, responsible, and purposeful work attitude in an international team
* Team player in a proactive, reliable and careful way even in critical situations, open communication
* Proficiency and practical experience in administration of Windows PCs and Windows environments
* Proficiency in Mac OS and/or Linux administration are a plus
* Business fluent towards IT solution providers and their support channels
* Fluency in German and English
