This leading European food Manufacturer is recruiting a brand new Senior Buyer to join their team in Germany. The business currently has 2 sites in Germany but has ambitious growth plans to expand it's production footprint over the next few years. This s the type of orgasnisaiton that challenges each other to improve, and will give you the autonomy to manage your category area. As Senior Buyer, reporting to the Procurement Director, you will act as a strong number 2 in the function and lead the Raw Ingredients category (40m EUR). Your responsibilities: Develop and implement sourcing strategies of defined Ingredient segment or group of suppliers across the Group, utilising Strategic Sourcing processes, tools, and policies. Negotiate contracts ensuring the most beneficial commercial agreements with suppliers in line with the strategy. Regular analysis and reporting on ingredient market developments within the defined category through market insights gathered by suppliers, market insight, and trade show visits. Develop and achieve a pipeline of initiatives, projects, and activities with a focus on sustainable cost base reduction. Advance and foster close working relationships with key suppliers & internal stakeholders to integrate the category sourcing strategy. Support the delivery of the Group objectives in terms of cost, quality, service, and innovation. Help to solve operational issues (e.g. efficiency workstreams, supply interruptions, contractual disputes) if needed. Get involved in ad hoc projects as determined by your manager. Support your team and the company in coherent development and application of our wider policies and objectives. Job requirements: What might qualify you for this role? A bachelor's degree in business management or related field. Working experience (4-7 years) in strategic procurement function in the food industry is a must. Fluent spoken and written English and German required. Skills in further languages are welcomed. Knowledge of flavors and spices would be welcomed. Strong analytical and data management skills. An ability to develop strong working relationships and be a valuable team player with a solid intercultural orientation. Personal drive, proactivity, a results-oriented mindset, and business acumen. Flexibility and willingness to travel, mainly within Europe (up to 30%). A sense of responsibility towards the company, colleagues, customers, and the planet.
