Position Overview
We are seeking a highly entrepreneurial VP of Sales to lead our sales efforts in Germany. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on sales execution, requiring a player/coach who can drive revenue growth while developing a high-performing sales team. The ideal candidate will balance direct selling with team leadership, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Strategy and Execution
- Develop and implement innovative sales strategies aligned with company goals to drive market share and revenue growth.
- Personally engage in direct selling and closing of key accounts, demonstrating a hands-on approach to achieving sales targets.
- Achieve individual and team sales quotas, ensuring consistent performance and growth.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to adapt strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
- Build, train, and mentor a high-performance sales team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and customer-first principles.
- Provide hands-on coaching to sales representatives, improving their techniques and outcomes.
- Create a data-driven culture of high-performance execution, ensuring the team is equipped to meet and exceed targets.
2. Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the German market, expanding the company’s footprint within the healthcare sector.
- Establish and nurture strategic partnerships to drive growth and enhance market presence.
- Develop and optimize the sales playbook for the German market, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market needs.
- Implement and enhance CRM systems to strengthen measurement, monitoring, and reporting of sales performance.
- Analyze sales data and market trends to inform strategy and decision-making, ensuring data-driven insights guide actions.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field (required).
- Master’s degree or MBA (preferred).
Experience
- Proven track record of sales leadership and personal sales success in Germany, with a focus on healthcare technology or software sales.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience building and scaling sales teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong knowledge of the German market, including healthcare systems, regulatory environment, and business culture.
- Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
