Scope Group is looking for an experienced Platform Infrastructure Engineer with an understanding of Microsoft’s Azure cloud services and a strong background in networking and security to join our SRE team in Berlin or Frankfurt. This role will manage our Azure and other cloud services, as well as shape and steer the adaptation of new cloud services to meet various business requirements. An outstanding communicator, diligent planner, determined and ambitious in solving business problems and delivering business services and support. The role requires a responsive, proactive and highly productive professional who can work with numerous stakeholders to ensure continued success.
Duties & responsibilities
* Maintain Scope’s existent Azure cloud and on-premises infrastructure in a Business as Usual (BAU) manner, by provisioning/ deprovisioning services, investigating alerts, troubleshooting issues, root cause analysis
* Monitor our backups regularly and test the restore from backup, as well as our disaster recovery processes twice a year
* Maintain high availability of the platform by monitoring and responding to incidents promptly
* Continuously improve the Performance Monitoring and Fault Management of Scope’s infrastructure and services
* Developing, maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Action/ Argo CD)
* Make sure that Security Best Practices are applied at all levels of our infrastructure and services
* Provide reporting and raise awareness of issues, risks and concerns to the various business areas to inform, mitigate risk and drive improvement
* Drive the automation of processes, integration of systems and adaptation of new technologies
* Collaborate with cross-functional IT professionals to evaluate new cloud services and deliver solutions to various business needs
* Work closely with technical and business colleagues, build trusting long-term partnerships, and ensure high-level of stakeholder satisfaction
Professional & personal qualifications
* Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience
* Industry certifications and memberships are a plus
* Background in IT Infrastructure, with minimum 1 years of experience in designing and implementing storage systems, network, load balancing and firewalling solutions, as well as managing Windows and Linux server farms
* Minimum 1- 2 years of experience in managing the following Microsoft Azure Cloud services:
* Networking (VNET, peering, NSG, ASG, Load Balancer, Traffic Manager, etc.)
* Storage accounts and Data Lake Gen2
* Azure Kubernetes Service and Fleet Manager
* Azure SQL and Azure DB for PostgreSQL
* Experience with configuration management tools
* Minimum 1 years of experience in writing code in python or
* Good understanding of Relational Databases (MS SQL, MySQL, Postgres SQL)
* Experience with Performance Monitoring and Fault Management
* Good understanding of Networking and Network Protocols (TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP, etc)
* Experience with monitoring tools like Grafana/Prometheus
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
