Job Description
The Head of the Sales and Business Development Office is responsible for driving the company’s growth by leading strategies and initiatives to generate leads, secure sales, and expand into new markets. Leading a team of Key Account Managers and Business Development Managers, the role ensures strong customer relationships, seamless coordination of sales efforts, and effective execution of business development strategies. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Sales and Business Development Office collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational objectives.
The responsibilities for this position are:
* Lead Generation and Qualification
o Coordinate and oversee the generation of new leads to drive business growth.
o Lead initiatives to generate leads, including coordinating the company’s presence at business events and trade fairs.
o Manage the process of lead qualification, ensuring alignment with the company’s objectives.
o Chair the procurement board to guide contract acquisition efforts.
* Define and lead the execution of the company’s sales strategy, focusing on expanding revenue from existing markets and customers, in close collaboration with the CEO, the Operational Divisions, and the Products and Technologies Office.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders to foster long-term business opportunities.
* Monitor and forecast upcoming tenders through procurement platforms and business intelligence gathering.
* Support the preparation and submission of offers, ensuring alignment with company standards and client expectations.
* Ensure compliance with tender specifications and oversee the contractual diligence of submitted offers.
* Support the sales and promotion of the company’s products.
* Assist with applications to funding programmes relevant to the company’s product portfolio.
* Business Development
o Define and lead the execution of the company’s business development strategy to expand into new markets and acquire new customers, in close collaboration with the CEO, the Operational Divisions, and the Products and Technologies Office.
o Oversee the company’s preparation for new opportunities, including conducting market research, building relationships, and ensuring readiness to bid through registration, pre-qualification, and certification processes.
The qualifications for this position are:
* Demonstrated experience (3+ years) in sales and business development leadership, preferably in the space industry.
* Proven ability to manage teams, including Key Account Managers and Business Development Managers.
* Strong understanding of sales strategies, market research, and business intelligence gathering.
* Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
* Ability to define and execute strategic sales and business development plans.
* Proficiency in using procurement platforms, business intelligence tools, and CRM systems.
* Strong analytical and organizational skills to manage complex tender processes and ensure compliance.
We follow a hybrid scheme with 2 days (or more if you wish) in the office and the remaining days from home.
Work Permit: Applicants must be EU citizens or have a valid work and residence permit for the above-mentioned work location. Security, identity, and reference checks on the candidates are part of the recruitment process.
