Head of Group Accounting, Tax & Treasury
About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Group Accounting, Tax & Treasury to lead the financial backbone of a newly carved-out private equity portfolio in the manufacturing sector. This is a high-impact role where you will build and shape the accounting, tax, and treasury functions from the ground up, ensuring robust financial governance and compliance while driving strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Group Accounting & Consolidation:
* Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements under both HGB (German Commercial Code) and IFRS standards.
* Lead the consolidation process for group financials, ensuring alignment with corporate and regulatory requirements.
* Implement and optimise accounting policies, procedures, and controls to support scalability and compliance.
* Manage all tax-related matters, including corporate tax, VAT, transfer pricing, and international tax compliance.
* Collaborate with external tax advisors and auditors to ensure adherence to local and global tax regulations.
* Develop and execute tax-efficient strategies to support the organisation’s financial objectives.
Treasury & Cash Management:
* Design and implement treasury strategies to optimise liquidity, cash flow, and working capital management.
* Oversee banking relationships, financing arrangements, and risk management activities (e.g., FX, interest rate hedging).
* Ensure robust cash forecasting and reporting to support strategic decision-making.
* Lead and mentor a team of 5 accounting professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
* Scale the team as needed to support the organisation’s growth and operational demands.
* Act as a key advisor to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations on financial matters.
Process Improvement & Transformation:
* Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, leveraging technology and best practices.
* Drive the implementation of ERP systems and other tools to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities.
* Support the integration of newly acquired entities into the group structure.
Your Profile:
* A degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
* Extensive experience in group accounting, consolidation, and reporting under both HGB and IFRS standards.
* Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
* Experience in ERP systems implementation (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in financial modelling and analysis.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
* Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in German or other languages is a plus.
