The Central Control Room Operator is responsible for managing the following activities across multiple EU windfarms. This is a safety critical role within the Central Control Room Organisation. The Central Control Room is the 24/7 Command and Control function for RWE Windfarms. The work location will be Helgoland until March 2026 in a 14/14 rotation. From March 2026 onwards, the position will move to Jemgum, in a continuous 8-hour shift system across three shifts without rotation.
Aboth the role
* Marine Coordination responsible for managing all vessel movements to/from and within the windfarm. Maintaining a log of personnel and vessel locations and tracking. And maintain sea surveillance and offshore weather monitoring and reporting.
* Perform communication with offshore parties by means of marine VHF, TETRA UHF and satellite phone communications.
* Act as Plant Operator under RWE operational HV Safety Rules. Responsible for release of plant to work parties. Auditing returned documents from work parties and maintaining compliance with HV Rules on site.
* Act as Incident Controller for the Site Emergency Response Plan managing/liaising with the emergency services during any incidents.
* Responding to Grid Commands to maintain grid compliance for the site. Conduct REMIT reporting.
* Entering production data into EDL Electronic Despatch and Loading for generation forecasting of the windfarm.
* Entering work notifications in the MMS Maintenance Management System for emerging work on faulted equipment.
* Act as an Operational Controller under Wind Turbine Safety Rules. Responsible for release of plant to work parties. Auditing returned documents from work parties and maintaining compliance with WTSR on site.
* Carrying out troubleshooting (Level 1) at the wind turbines and/or the offshore substations in accordance with the procedural instructions and the personal qualification and competency level First contact and remote support of the offshore technicians in carrying out fault clearance and maintenance work
Job requirements and experience
* Experience in a similar control room, marine coordination role or technician/mariner background with Wind Turbine or High Voltage Safety Rules authorisation.
* Knowledge and experience of safety rules systems both Wind Turbine and High Voltage Safety Rules.
* Experience with Sics controller 1 & 2, WTC 3 controller, Bachmann controller Experience with high voltage and authorised to switch 33kv - 155kv switchboard
* Preferred experience with VHF/TETRA marine radio communications.
* Knowledge and experience of renewable energy or generation assert operations.
* Works well under pressure in a dynamic office environment.
* Flexible approach to working hours as we operate the wind farms 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
* Knowledge and experience of electronic maintenance management systems.
