The research laboratory is located within the large pediatric research center of the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (Director: Prof. Dr. M. Erlacher).
Investigating cellular and molecular mechanisms of pediatric neurogenetic disorders and muscular dystrophies, mainly based on novel genomics approaches using patient samples and in-vitro models.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Discovery of novel muscular dystrophy-associated genes and molecular mechanisms by the latest state-of-the-art OMICs techniques, in particular long-read RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics.
* Characterization of mouse models to investigate the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms leading to muscular dystrophy.
* Development of novel antisense oligonucleotides for exon skipping therapy of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in-vitro and mdx mice models.
* Development of protein quantification techniques including mass spectrometry.
* Working in collaboration with an international team under the supervision and leadership of the PI.
* Publishing impactful original research papers.
