Your future plans
As a member of the RWE Structured Finance team, you will have the exciting task of developing innovative project finance solutions for our Renewables segment. Your main responsibility is structuring, negotiating and executing non-recourse project finance solutions across RWE’s renewables technologies and markets. You will guide project teams through the complexity of the financing process, interact with external advisors, and support internal decision-making in order to smoothly close financing structures which are optimally tailored to the needs of each individual project. Your work will have a direct impact on the future of renewable energy and provide you with the opportunity to contribute your expertise and skills in a significant area.
1. Assume full responsibility for the preparation, structuring, negotiation and execution of complex financing solutions for Renewables projects as well as the alignment with and coordination of all internal and external project parties on all finance related topics
2. Support RWE’s M&A activities whereby assuming responsibility for the financial due diligence on finance related topics (such as financing structures, contingent liabilities, hedging etc.); identify risks and opportunities and develop plans to mitigate and manage them, assist in the drafting of the transaction documents and accompany the transaction until closing
3. Prepare, apply for and execute export credit insurances and investment guarantees such as, for instance, the investment guarantees of the Federal Republic of Germany
4. Serve as first point of contact to external debt advisors and be responsible for scoping and negotiating debt advisory mandates
5. Consult the RWE Renewables Group (including its affiliates) on all finance related queries such as the assessment of financial risks, leasing and other financing structures, rating implications
6. Develop, draft and review the group internal finance directives and manage approval requests
Your powerful skills
7. University degree in finance, banking or economics
8. At least 8 years of relevant experience in non-recourse project finance, having secured significant amounts of project debt and participated in a number of transactions (at least one of which in a lead position)
9. Strong understanding of corporate and structured finance solutions such as non-recourse project financing, and other cash flow based financing instruments, leasing etc.
10. Strong understanding of adjacent disciplines such as Legal, Valuation, Tax and Accounting, the ability to coordinate with such disciplines on finance related issues, and the ability to work in cross-functional teams
11. Strong analytical and communicational skills (verbal and written) across departments and hierarchies; strong negotiation skills as well as the ability to present complex structures in a coherent manner
12. Strong intercultural competences, high degree of commitment and resilience as well as willingness to act in an independent and entrepreneurial manner
13. Fluent in German and English
14. Willingness to travel (approx. 25%)
