Job Description
The business area “Technology and Project Delivery” drives value creation through optimising project delivery, procurement, operational excellence and leveraging IT & digitalisation. The business area is also responsible for ensuring a workplace without injury or harm.
We are currently looking to recruit an office based Technical Contracting Manager for Onshore Wind PV, BESS and Hydrogen in Germany to strengthen the business area’s Project Delivery Unit. The team is responsible for the project execution of large-scale infrastructure renewable projects of onshore wind, PV, BESS and Hydrogen in Germany. You will report to the Delivery Director for Germany.
As a Technical Contracting Manager you will lead the technical side of the tendering process for wind onshore farms, PV projects, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and hydrogen projects with the following responsibilities:
* Preparation of technical tender documents in close cooperation with procurement, all engineering teams involved, the development and construction teams.
* Coordinating project specific technical requirements.
* Technical review and evaluation of offers including identification, evaluation and clarifications of technical deviations in close coordination with procurement, engineering, development and construction.
* Leading and coordinating technical contract negotiations in close coordination with all stakeholders involved.
* Independently managing the development, modification and implementation of technical specifications, standards and requirements in close coordination and cooperation with all stakeholders involved.
* Identifying and following up on lessons learned from the tendering, contracting and construction phases and supporting LCoE (levelized cost of electricity) reduction initiatives.
Qualifications
* Successfully completed university degree in engineering, ideally in civil, mechanical, electrical engineering or comparable.
* Several years of relevant, proven professional experience in the procurement of technical products and/or in project management, especially in wind, solar, BESS, hydrogen or other infrastructure projects.
* Ability to balance technical requirements against commercial benefits across all project phases,
* Very good technical understanding of civil, mechanical and electrical trades.
* Knowledge of relevant German norms and standards.
* Good project management skills, ability to plan and organize tasks and meetings independently and to prioritize.
* Strong negotiating skills, strong assertiveness and ability to discuss technical, operational and commercial issues with colleagues and business partners.
* Ability to work in a team and interest in interdisciplinary tasks, combined with the ability to build sustainable working relationships in international teams across regions and functions.
* Business fluent in German and English.
* Valid driving license and willingness to travel within Germany, usually for one to three days.
