WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
We are searching for a Head of Legal (m/f/d) for a newly established company (totally approx. 100 employees) partially owned by Panasonic. This new company has its headquarter in Wiesbaden, Germany with branches being established in many European countries and also having an office in Dubai.
The Head of Legal (m/f/d) will be based in Wiesbaden being responsible for European and Middle East operations. Will develop strategy and guidelines with close cooperation with HQ in Japan and implements the company’s legal strategy across multiple European markets, ensuring compliance with local and international laws, including GDPR, intellectual property, and corporate governance. Furthermore, this position involves the following tasks:
* The legal strategy supporting the company’s business objectives across multiple European markets will be developed and implemented by you.
* You will lead and manage the legal department, ensuring efficient operations while providing strategic legal advice to the executive team.
* Compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all jurisdictions will be ensured by you.
* Ensuring compliance with European legislation, including GDPR, data protection, competition, and intellectual property laws, along with country-specific regulations, will be part of your responsibilities.
* You will draft, review, and negotiate corporate policies, internal guidelines, procedures, and complex contracts and agreements.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
* You hold a university degree in Law and have relevant experience, ideally as Head of Legal (m/f/d).
* In-depth knowledge of corporate law, GDPR, intellectual property, contracts, compliance, and legal issues across multiple jurisdictions, particularly in European markets, is required.
* A strong understanding of data protection laws, privacy compliance, and the ability to manage legal risk while aligning legal strategies with business objectives is expected from you.
* Experience in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing complex contracts and agreements, as well as litigation and dispute resolution, will be essential in this role.
* Strong leadership skills to manage and develop the legal team, along with excellent English skills, are mandatory; knowledge of German is an advantage.
