Hauptaufgaben Serves as a Supervisory in all aspects of the Distribution Division operations, to include receiving, bulk/bin storage, packing, and Turn-In. May act as the inbound good receipts manager, responsible for coordinating all activities related to organizing, monitoring, and controlling inbound goods receipt processes. Incumbent may also assist in the warehouse processes involved with the management of Medical Chemical Defense Materials (MCDM). If leadership requires change of work assignment or area, must be able to acclimate and be flexible to perform duties in other areas of assignment. Utilizes Business Intelligence applications to assist in quality and production flow of material to customers. Utilizes TEWLS (Theater Enterprise-Wide Logistics System) and other automated systems to manage all materials under care. Serves as a Supervisor Chief, Receiving Section with responsibility for planning, directing, and reviewing the work of approximately 20 subordinate employees (base level C-4A, C-5, C-5A) performing clerical supply and warehousing functions. TEWLS is a complex, highly configurable, commercial-off-the-shelf automated information system that integrates and standardizes business processes across the entire Department of Defense MEDLOG community, including financial management, medical assemblage management, inventory management, product lifecycle management, capital equipment acquisition, planning, programming and budgeting, strategic planning, sales and distribution, cataloging, purchasing, warehouse management, environmental health and safety, production planning, training management, customer relationship, and roles and authorization. It is the automation platform that enables the AMEDD to prosecute its strategic medical logistics mission in order to provide medical materiel lifecycle management and worldwide logistics solutions to the warfighter across the full spectrum of health care missions. As a Distribution Supervisor the incumbent is responsible for managing, coordinating, supervising, and optimizing resources and processes for all activities in the warehouse spectrum that involve goods receipt, storage, packing, to include but not limited to MCDM, and Turn In. Maintains competency and relevancy in relation to organizing, monitoring, and controlling materials through the supply chain within the span of control assigned. Incumbent is responsible for all SOP and Work Instructions that control processes for area of responsibility assigned. Maintains and improves internal controls on productivity and accuracy and identifies and implements industry best practices to improve business practices, quality, and customer satisfaction. The incumbent ensures that physical assets (e.g., MHE, stock selectors, equipment, computer stations, inventory, conveyors, etc.) are properly accounted for maintained protected, and utilized. Ensures accurate and efficient capacity planning and resource utilization. Coordinates all activities in area of assignment with other supervisors and leaders to execute effective management of resources. Supervises personnel to ensure accuracy in inbound good receipts, materials storage, packing, shipments, and turn-ins. Provides effective support for genuine root cause analysis designed to identify and eliminate non-conforming operational areas. Incumbent applies sound communication and motivational techniques in exercising the following supervisory and managerial authorities and responsibilities: (a) As the first line supervisor, plans work to be accomplished by subordinates. (b) Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employee. (c) Executes administrative and personnel management responsibilities related to accomplishment of assigned mission by promoting sound position management principles and programs, develops work performance standards for subordinates, and rates same. (d) Participates in interviews, recommends selections for subordinate non-supervisory positions, and provides advice, counsel, and instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. (e) Recommends awards or bonuses for non-supervisory personnel and changes in position classifications, subject to approval by higher level officials. (f) Makes decisions on work problems presented by subordinates. (g) Hears and resolves complaints from employees, referring group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to a higher level supervisor or manager. (h) Implements minor disciplinary measures and recommends other actions in the more serious cases. (i) Identifies and makes decisions on routine developmental and training needs of employees; provides or arranges for needed development or training. (j) Finds and implements ways to eliminate or reduce significant bottlenecks and barriers to production, promotes team building, improves business practices, improves productivity and/or increases the quality of work produced.
