The Opportunity:
As our UX/UI Designer at commercetools, you are responsible for the whole design process: From research and discovery for both, our API and user interface, to visual interface design. You work closely together with product management and engineers in agile teams, shaping the future of the Composable Commerce product, and contributing to our design system.
You will combine a mix of design skills to support your team, including heuristic evaluation, design methodologies, strategic UX, prototyping, UI design and design consultation. All with the aim to deliver high-quality user experiences.
Together with your team you will enable our customers to import and export data into/from Composable Commerce through dedicated APIs and powerful CSV upload/export functionalities in our business user tooling. By providing reliable and scalable solutions for managing large data sets you play a key role in helping customers get onboarded efficiently and supporting their ongoing import and export needs.
This role offers a hybrid work environment with three days a week in our local office.
Your Mission:
1. Conduct research to discover improvements or new functionality that solve customer problems
2. Continuously assess usability, design quality and user satisfaction in your product area
3. Influence plans and roadmap to make room for UX improvement
4. Collect, organize, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data
5. Create and update personas, jobs-to-be-done, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, or other artifacts to share and discuss your design proposals with internal and external stakeholders
6. Prepare user interface designs and UX copy to guide engineers during implementation, and quality-check the results
7. Use and contribute to our design system, to ensure consistency
8. Join other UX/UI designers as well as product managers for knowledge sharing sessions and peer coaching
What you need to succeed:
9. 3+ years of experience conducting research studies, applying User Experience design methods and techniques, and delivering User Interfaces, preferably for products built for enterprise customers
10. Ability to identify pain points and user needs that help shape the design of our product
11. Experience with translating requirements into visual interfaces, applying our and patterns
12. Proficiency in any prototype tool (preferably Figma)
13. Experience measuring feature usage in any analytics tool such as Google Analytics or fullstory.
14. Finding joy in experimenting and iterating on ideas- we like feedback loops
15. A collaborative mindset- we listen to customers and users, engage in discussions with colleagues, and value diverse opinions and backgrounds
16. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Nice to have:
17. Experience with commerce platforms or PIM solutions
18. Experience with API-based SaaS products
