We are looking for dedicated and experienced Medical Leads - Benefit Assessment (m/f/d) for a growing and diverse internal medicine portfolio (primarily nephrology and pulmonology applications), who are eager to bring their expertise and strategic skills to this company.
Main Responsibilities:
Development and Responsibility:
* Develop and take responsibility for the medical content, including creating relevant text modules and sections of various benefit dossiers in consultation with Market Access in the assigned indication area. Ensure consistency with the global and local medical overall product strategy, especially regarding efficacy and safety.
* Coordinate and align the medical sections of the benefit dossier within Medical Affairs, specifically Safety, Regulatory Affairs, and Statistics (lateral leadership).
Strategic Analysis and Planning:
* Analyze and take strategic responsibility for identifying necessary medical action plans and objectives in different phases of the product lifecycle within the framework of benefit assessment (including early G-BA consultation and commenting process, including hearings).
* Advise global teams (e.g., Product Development, Access) on German requirements and coordinate the medical strategy in an international context.
* Develop clinical Phase IIIB/IV study programs, if necessary, to obtain, maintain, and expand additional benefits in cross-functional local and international coordination.
Medical Advisory and Collaboration:
* Manage and develop collaboration with medical/clinical societies during different phases of the product lifecycle, especially in the context of benefit assessment (including early G-BA consultation) and conducting medical advisory boards.
* Represent the medical position in authority hearings, price negotiations, and relevant international corporate committees, and possibly with the media in close coordination with the PR department.
Leadership and Coaching:
* Support and represent the Medical Group Lead in the professional leadership of the Medical Management Team for the medical chapter.
* Act as a coach and sparring partner for other benefit assessors in a self-organized team.
Main Requirements:
Medical Degree:
* Completed medical degree with substantial clinical experience, preferably in Internal Medicine, specialist recognition, or equivalent long-term professional experience (e.g., in the pharmaceutical industry or health services research).
Drug Development Knowledge:
* Detailed knowledge of the drug development process (focus on clinical studies) including ICH GCP as well as pharmaceutical and medical advertising law.
Pharmaceutical Medicine Expertise:
* Profound knowledge of pharmaceutical medicine with a focus on planning and conducting clinical studies, as well as interpreting clinical data and their publication.
Leadership and Strategic Skills:
* Integrative, performance-oriented personality with initiative and an eye for the essentials, strong strategic understanding; leadership experience is an advantage.
Language Proficiency:
* Fluent in English, with the ability to confidently present complex issues to large audiences.
