Description
The Senior Officer for Global Service Development is a senior project management expert with a strong understanding of product development and is part of the Global Service Development (GSD) Team. The GSD is the unit within FLOCERT responsible for the stewardship of the global product development process and coordinating subsequent development of Fairtrade value-added services on a global level (cross-departmental and cross-organizational).
The position requires strong expertise in project management methodologies, product development, and service development. The successful candidate will have a strong entrepreneurial spirit, strong communication and networking skills and can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
The function, therefore, requires a strong understanding of product development work including human-centered design, ‘follow-me-home’ research, product marketing, and pricing. It further requires collaborating with Stakeholders (Fairtrade International, National Fairtrade Organisations, Producer Networks etc.) for shared learning and process development.
Your responsibilities
* Collect, organise, define and communicate requirements for new products and services, including feedback from stakeholders to feed into next product iteration with particular focus on delivering customer value
* Support execution of product development cycle, including creating efficiencies and optimising existing systems
* Manage projects using diverse approaches, assessing best tools in classic and agile, to drive success of strategic product development priorities, including drafting and executing project plans
* Define metrics for understanding the engagement and impact of products and services, as well as the business case
* Contribute to process improvement, including project documentation
* Act as product owner, representing the customer’s interest and product in cross-functional meetings
* Provide business analysis, support research and write memos or reports
* Liaise with FLOCERT units (including Customer Experience, Operations, IT, Finance and Legal) and teams across the Fairtrade system, coordinating topics of product strategy and development
* Act as a guide for stakeholders through the full product life cycle from research and ideation in close collaboration with the Innovation Hub, through design, prototyping and piloting, in close collaboration with the service coordination and delivery teams
* Draft decision papers for senior management
* Manage procurement process. Identify and evaluate suitable vendors. Negotiate with suppliers
* Work with Legal to draw up contracts
* Check deliverables against established quality criteria
* Support new GSD team members’ onboarding experience and provide guidance as agreed with the line manager
* Where GSD aspects are concerned, coordinate international and cross-functional projects
* Supervise interns and/or apprentices
Your qualifications, experience and skills
* Professional education as Management Assistant, Foreign / Multi-lingual secretary, Office Clerk, Office Administrator or any other related qualification
* University education in economics or in related field is a plus
* At least 5 years previous experience managing projects in international context, paired with 3+ years experience in field of product and/or service development
* Further education, training or experience in the area of sales, communications, marketing, customer service etc. is seen as an asset
* Experience as product owner
* Experiences in project management in an international environment would be beneficial, as well as working in a multi-stakeholder environment
* Experience in verification or certification is a plus
* Experience in training or facilitation of workshops is an asset
* Excellent business fluency in English and German oral and written; further language skills in Spanish or French etc. are beneficial
* Strong organisational and planning skills as well as the ability to multi-task
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels

* High commitment to the tasks and consistency in precise work output
* Strong command of MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and in the general use of information systems
