Working at Freudenberg: We will wow your world Responsibilities: Leadership: Manage and develop the German customs team, overseeing all customs-related operations for VC entities in Germany. Compliance : Ensure full compliance with the Union Customs Code (UCC) and EU export control regulations, acting as the main point of contact for authorities and internal stakeholders. Process Optimization : Streamline and standardize customs and export control processes, including classification, preferential calculation, and collaboration with customs agents. Regulatory Monitoring : Monitor legal changes in EU customs and export laws and implement new legal requirements across the EMEA region (e.g., EUDR, CBAM). AEO & Export Control : Serve as the key contact for customs and AEO matters for German VC entities while acting as the export control officer for the EMEA region. Process Improvement : Identify and drive enhancements to customs and export procedures across the EMEA region. Qualifications: Education : Degree in International Business Administration and Foreign Trade, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or similar fields, or training in higher-level customs administration. Alternatively, a commercial education with extensive relevant experience. Experience : Extensive experience in a similar role, preferably in the customs and trade compliance sector within the automotive industry. Expertise : Deep knowledge of EU customs regulations and German and European export control laws. Communication : Excellent German and English language skills (written and spoken) with strong interpersonal communication abilities. Leadership : Proven experience in managing and developing teams, with both personal and professional leadership skills. Work Approach : Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented mindset with a strong service focus and Hands-on mentality. IT Skills : Proficiency in SAP, ATLAS, and Microsoft applications; experience with customs software (e.g., AEB, SAP GTS) is a plus.
