Introduction to the Position
Our client, a fast-growing company based in Mannheim, is seeking an experienced Head of Tax to lead their tax function and play a key role in their financial operations. In this position, you will oversee the company’s tax compliance and strategy while leading a team of tax professionals. You will be responsible for ensuring that all tax processes align with local and international regulations, working closely with internal teams to optimize tax planning and reporting. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced tax leader to shape the tax strategy and drive efficiency in a dynamic and evolving company. Relocation to Mannheim is required for this position.
Your Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the tax function, ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations.
* Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns for the company, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position and reduce tax liabilities.
* Manage tax audits and liaise with tax authorities as needed.
* Work closely with internal finance, legal, and operational teams to provide tax advice on a range of matters, including transactions, restructuring, and cross-border operations.
* Lead a team of tax professionals, providing mentorship and ensuring the development of team members.
* Monitor and analyze changes in tax regulations and ensure the company is compliant with new legislation.
* Collaborate with senior management to provide strategic advice on tax planning and risk management.
Desired Qualifications
* Fluency in German and English (both written and spoken).
* Proven experience in a senior tax management role, ideally with a focus on corporate tax.
* Strong understanding of local and international tax regulations and compliance requirements.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a team.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* A background in Finance, Accounting, Tax, or a related field is required.
* CPA, ACA, or equivalent tax qualification is preferred.
