Abbott Medical GmbH's Electrophysiology division is looking for a
ICE (I ntra C ardiac E chocardiography ) CLINICAL DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST (M/F/D) - GERMANY
Home-Office based in Germany
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
As ICE Clinical Development Specialist (CDS) you will gain market share in the ICE (intracardiac echocardiography) market in Region Germany and you will serve as a back up to the core team of EP Field Technical Engineers (FTE’s) with ICE where necessary.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
9. Open new ICE accounts and execute strategic direction for ICE accounts with territory manager & support sales team in engaging trial/use of Abbott technology. Take on commercial responsibilities.
10. Roll out of ICE LMR and clinical projects and introduce ICE to new accounts.
11. Creation of tailor-made ICE training programs based on customer needs and requirements and perform product presentations and training to new ICE customers. Training and hand-over to local FTE in post-trial phase.
12. Provide primary technical support to physicians and nurses during Electrophysiology procedures using Abbott ICE equipment over the assigned territory while bringing new centers/physicians on board.
13. Support EP strategy and its execution, by supporting all activities related to the promotion of EP products, including internal and external educational programs, customer clinical training and other Abbott events
14. Respond to technical questions that might be raised by customer personnel Maintain up to date technical knowledge of current and new Abbott products, therapies and technologies as well as a general understanding of the dynamics of the country healthcare market
15. Initiate ICE studies and trials together with clinical affairs and maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge, including clinical studies, to consistently support Abbott’s product advantages.
16. Understand how Abbott’s product portfolio compares to competition, to be able to offer an Abbott’s solution to customer in as many situations as possible.
17. Produce concise market and competition reports for the Sales and Marketing team, providing the organization with competitive devices information. Proactively communicate to the Sales and Marketing organization relevant information that can pertain to: ICE products, the account, the physicians, product preferences, procedural preference, etc.
18. Implement an ICE account database in the Customer Relationship Management and ticket tool. Keep the system up to date with visits, comments, and all possible relevant information and derive KPIs, improvement plans and leads from the data analysis.
19. Tight communication across peer group, Regional FTE’s, RSM, TM marketing, Education and Capital Sales. Feedback to CDM/RSM/Marketing essential.
20. Encourage coaching and responds productively to feedback from EP Product Specialist Manager, colleagues, Regional Manager, Sales Manager and other functional specialists as appropriate
21. Check that products are in stock according to relevant Abbott’s policies in place.
22. Follow all local, regional and global corporate policies with respect to expense reporting, travel booking, etc.
23. Ensure that all Abbott’s Quality Procedures are followed and adhere to technical, clinical and ethical standards and practices applicable and complies with Abbott quality standards, legal and regulatory requirements and the Code of Business Conduct
24. Perform booth duties when required for congresses, etc.
25. Back up to FTE where required.
EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES
26. Education in scientific, medical or technical field
27. Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
28. Experience in Ultrasound or cardiology required.
29. Experience in healthcare industry or service sales preferred.
30. Specific knowledge that would constitute a plus for the role (not mandatory):Knowledge of the local healthcare marketIn-depth experience in a EP technical role, ideally 3 yearsFamiliarity with Cath lab and operating room procedures and protocolStrong Cardiac Anatomy & Physiology knowledge
31. Entrepreneurial spirit, willing to support Abbott’s product technically and from a sales perspective
32. Good computer utilization and presentation skills to include: MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point) and Email
33. Experience with Jira, Power BI or equivalent data analysis tool and ticket system preferred.
34. Demonstrated verbal and written interpersonal, communication & organizational skills with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization
35. Fluent in German and English
36. Willingness to travel extensively
