What you bring to the table
* You hold a completed scientific degree (Diploma/Master) in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or comparable fields, preferably with a doctorate.
* You have experience in the design and realization of fiber lasers (design of laser resonators and amplifiers, assembly of optical components, thermal and nonlinear effects in fiber lasers) and related measurement techniques (beam quality, spectrum, temporal dynamics, etc.).
* Ideally, you have knowledge in the handling of splicing devices and heat sinks for fiber lasers.
* Knowledge in one or more areas of fiber optics, micro optics, or simulation of fiber lasers is advantageous.
* You are passionate about scientific work but also want to transfer your research results into practical applications.
* Very good German (B2/C1 level) and very good English (at least B2 level) in spoken and written form complete your profile.

The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis. The position is initially limited to 2 years. An extension is being sought.
