This covers all current Local National employees of the U.S. Forces in Germany, including U.S. Air Force and AAFES-Europe within Germany. Hauptaufgaben Serves as working leader of several employees performing food service working tasks in an Army Troop Dining Facility. - Assigns work to subordinates. Starts work and demonstrates proper work methods. Explains and demonstrates methods to assure quality, quantity and economy. Answers questions of other workers on procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives. Ensures that materials and supplies are at work site and that needed stock is obtained from supply. Requisitions and assures economical and correct use of suppliesand equipment. Checks proper and safe operation of equipment. Advises employees to follow instructions and to meet deadlines. Checks work in progress and upon completion for compliance with instructions. Provides information for time and attendance and incidental records as needed. Assures adherence to rules on housekeeping, cleanliness, safety and care of equipment. Observes worker performance and conducts orientation for individual employees. Maintains discipline and reports incidents to supervisor. Refers personnel problems to supervisor. - Sets up glasses, silverware, butter, condiments, salads, desserts, bread, and cold beverages on serving counter as instructed. Removes soiled dishes from tables and transports them to the dishwashing unit. Wipes or washes tables. - Prepares fruits and vegetables by cutting, scraping, chopping, dicing and peeling. Operates an electric potato peeler or other appliances. - Cleans, scrubs, wipes or washes service equipment such as worktables and refrigerators. Prepares dishes for the dishwasher by separating food waste and trash, prerinsing dishes, and loading dishes in dishwasher. Stacks and stores clean dishes. - Performs a variety of duties incidental to the maintenance and cleanliness of the area to which assigned. Cleans kitchen equipment, dining room tables and chairs; washes floors, walls, and windows in kitchen, dining and storage areas, office, hallways, and latrines. Waxes and buffs floors. Cleans and sanitizes garbage and trashcans. - May be required to perform headcount duties as prescribed in PAM 30-22, Operating Procedures for the Army Food Program, Appendix D, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). In this capacity employee will be responsible for change funds provided as well as all funds collected for meals sold. Performs other duties as assigned.
