To implement University Student Affairs programs for native and international students. Provides to students advice/information on Academic and Personal issues throughout their studies at the University. MAIN DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES Provides advice and guidance to students within the framework of University’s Students Affairs Services Coordinates the various Student clubs within the University Researches and performs student counseling related to cultural activities, academics and student life Interprets and implements University policies and regulations in student affairs Recommends modifications in policies and procedures to upgrade services offered Actively participates in the events organized by the Office of Student Affairs Provides customer support by responding to student email and telephone inquiries, handling problems coming from prospective and current students Represents the University to the different venues, conducting campus presentations and campus tours Provides accurate information about academic policies, university regulations, program requirements, procedures, and other university information Assists students in monitoring and evaluating their academic progress and keep track of students’ performance Knows about specific course sequences that are required in the major - particularly those taught by other departments; determines that the student has had adequate preparation (e.g., prerequisite courses) for courses that are recommended Assists students in deciding how to utilize their elective courses to best meet their goals Matches students' needs with available resources and make appropriate referrals Keeps track of any changes in degree programs or requirements Helps students prepare paperwork necessary to meet program requirements, such as adding/dropping courses, withdrawal from courses, course substitutions, waivers and application for graduation Discusses how course work is applicable to careers Keeps careful records of each advising session and of the advice given to students.
