Your tasks include:
We are looking for an internationally recognized personality to represent experimental physics in research and teaching at the RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau in Kaiserslautern. Compatible and complementary research areas as well as the ability to cooperate within the department are expected. Possible focal points are ultrafast phenomena on surfaces and/or 2D materials, ultrafast spin dynamics, atomic and femtosecond spectroscopy on solids.
The Department of Physics is centrally involved in the Collaborative Research Centers SFB/TRR173 (Spin+X), SFB/TRR185 (OSCAR) and the State Research Center OPTIMAS. The willingness and ability to participate in coordinated research programs at the location are expected.
The development of new concepts for coordinated research projects is desired.
Courses should be offered and held in the degree programs of the Department of Physics. In addition to appropriate academic qualifications, applicants are expected to have special didactic skills and experience in teaching.

Additional requirements are a completed degree in natural sciences, a doctorate, above-average publication achievements, successful acquisition of third-party funding and scientific activity after the doctorate, which is proven by habilitation or habilitation-equivalent achievements.
The state of Rhineland-Palatinate and RPTU advocate a supervision concept in which a high level of presence of teaching staff at the university location is expected.
