Position Purpose: To support the Head of Finance Europe (based in Frankfurt) and, indirectly, the Regional CFO (based in London) with the monthly accounting cycle, and to perform financial and management accounting tasks for EU group entities as needed.Primary duties will include: Operational accounting and tax (30-40%): Performance of accounting, reporting and tax activities throughout the month, including but not limited to monthly accounts preparation, detailed balance sheet reconciliations and front office variable Validation and commentary of monthly results.Responsibility for the monthly payroll process.Responsibility for the preparation of the year-end financial statement and coordination with local Responsibility for the tax related topics, coordination of the tax audits.Controlling and budgeting (20%-30%): Responsibility for the local budgeting process and coordination with the Parent company.Responsible for preparing and presenting to the local management monthly reporting for the business, including management accounts, KPI reporting and analysis System-optimization (10%-15%): Optimization and enhancement of accounting, reporting and analysis processes and ensure an effective and robust finance function.Enhancement of the Group’s Oracle accounting system, as adapted for European entities, EU lead for the further ORACLE integration across the European entities (preferred).Train on the technical subjects and provide cover for other members of the European team.Regulatory compliance (10%-15%): Ensure compliance with external reporting requirements (VAT, Business Tax, IFR/IFD, etc.).To land this role you will need:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance /Audit etc.; ACCA, CPA or MBA are highly desirable. At least several years experiences in Finance, preferably in multinational financial services companies. High level understanding / knowledge of accounting/company laws, tax laws and regulations. Solid understanding of bookkeeping procedures including crediting and debiting appropriate accounts, posting entries to ledger accounts, and reconciling accountsGood experience of monthly and daily routine processes, monthly and yearly tax filing processes, and financial statement preparationProject Management experience and experiences in implementation of ERP systems.Previous experience working within a regulated environment and exposure to Sarbanes Oxley requirements; controls surrounding division of Experience in planning and budgeting processes.Previous professional experience as a qualified accountant with knowledge in tax advising being considered as advantageous.Excellent leadership and communication skills (verbal and written)What makes you stand out: Advanced-level MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power Point experience. Familiarity with database queries is highly desirable.
