Your Role in a Nutshell
As Communications Officer you are responsible for implementing the communication strategies of the adidas Foundation to enhance the Foundation’s public image, ensure effective internal communication, and promote key initiatives. This role involves creating written content, managing social media platforms, working with media outlets, and supporting the overall communication efforts of the organization. This role is critical to mainstreaming inclusive approaches and amplifying the voices, views, and stories of communities we aim to support to ensure they remain central to the decision making and actions of the organization and its partners.

Your Day-To-Day
* Support the development and implementation of the global communication strategies of the adidas Foundation, particularly leading content creation for website, social media, email communications, as well as preparing and designing presentations and other communication assets. Contributing to the creation of essential communication assets tailored for funders, partners, political and public representatives, and other stakeholders that convey the stories of our partners and communities in a respectful and ethical manner that aligns with the values and guidelines of the adidas Foundation. Shape narratives that center the voices closest to the challenges.
* Inbox & Social Media Engagement Management: Monitor and manage incoming inquiries via the organization's general email inbox (info@, communications@), ensuring timely and professional responses or directing messages to the appropriate team members. Oversee and engage with comments, messages, and interactions on social media, fostering meaningful conversations and maintaining a strong online presence aligned with the adidas Foundation’s communication strategy.
* CRM and Data & Asset Management: Develop and maintain the organization’s content and digital asset management system, ensuring efficient storage, categorization, and accessibility of media files, including photos, videos, and other communication materials. Work closely with internal teams and external partners to uphold ethical, GDPR and brand-compliant usage of assets.
* Donor relations, Partner Communication and Media Relations Support: Support communication efforts of the adidas Foundation and aligning broader communication strategies and engagement activities, actively liaising with diverse audiences, attending key meetings, and meticulously overseeing messaging alignment with internal guidelines and processes and feedback received from partners and communities.
* Support the mainstreaming and implementation of internal brand guidelines by providing guidance and resources to other teams and partners, ensuring alignment with the foundation’s visual and communication standards. Oversee and approve the use of the organization’s logo, ensuring proper application across internal and external materials in compliance with branding policies.
* Research and Reporting: Monitor the effectiveness of communication campaigns, assess public opinion, and assist in designing reports.
* Contractor Management: Oversee and coordinate external contractors, including videomakers, copywriters, consultants, designers, agencies, translators, and other vendors, ensuring deliverables align with brand guidelines, deadlines, and strategic objectives.
* Proofreading & Inclusive Language Review: Ensure all communication materials align with the highest standards of clarity, accuracy, and professionalism through careful proofreading and editing. Review content for inclusive and respectful language, ensuring alignment with the adidas Foundation’s values and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills (if possible native English skills)
* Skilled in working with social media platforms, website management, content management systems, and analytics tools to track and optimize engagement. Ability to analyse and interpret communication and engagement metrics to inform strategy and decision-making.
* Experience with media outreach and relationship-building.
* Familiarity with mailing list management and audience segmentation for targeted communication efforts.
Your Fundamentals
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or equivalent)
* Proven experience: at least 3 years of progressive experience in in communications, public relations, or another relevant field, preferably in a non-profit context
* Intermediate design knowledge, including experience with design briefings and online graphic design tools (e.g., Canva). Advanced design or Adobe tool experience is not required but beneficial
* Experience using AI tools in an ethical and responsible manner to enhance communication, content creation, and workflow efficiency is beneficial
* Evidence of specialization in sports-for-good, sustainability and/or international development related topics is beneficial
