ROLE: Hotel Financial Controller – German Speaking - 12 month Fixed Term Contract

Fluency in German is essential for this role and experience in working with SAP or any ERP system is desired. Strong candidates would have experience of German accounting practices.
Fraser Hospitality are looking for a German Speaking Hotel Financial Controller to support our properties in Frankfurt and Hamburg, Germany. Based from Capri by Fraser in Frankfurt, you will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting, financial operations and provides support to operational managers across the two properties. You will also be responsible for producing and submitting accurate monthly P&Ls and Balance Sheets for the hotels in-line with the tight monthly deadlines.
What you will be doing :
1. Day to day financial reporting and operational duties
2. Ensure compliance with internal policies & procedures
3. Review of cash banking & safeguarding of cash floats in operation
4. Producing bank reconciliations and bank clearing
5. Support junior Finance staff within the hotel
6. Coordinate accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
7. Preparation of monthly financial statements, forecasting and commentary on variance
8. Reporting under & adhering to IFRS and German regulatory requirements within statutory deadline
9. Monthly balance sheet reconciliation and preparation of audit pack
10. Analyse & interpret of monthly results, key performance indicators and cost control by department.
11. Assist Senior Management Accountant and General Managers with annual budgets
12. Prepare P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reports for corporate reporting to strict deadlines
13. Assist with property audit – internal and external, and other consultants and bank
14. Work with other German finance team and share best practices
15. Prepare, submit and settle VAT returns and City tax returns within required deadline
What we're looking for:
16. Proficient in German language – writing/ speaking
17. This role is suitable for a part qualified accountant
18. Demonstrable experience in financial management experience with background in hospitality or service-based industry an advantage
19. Proven capability to communicate Financial Information to various stakeholders, especially with non-financial background
20. An eye for detail and the ability to identify errors and offer workable solutions
21. Strong systems skills with a mindset of continuous improvement
