About the LCSB
The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character.
The National Centre of Excellence in Research on Parkinson's Disease (NCER-PD) is an interdisciplinary program combining clinical, experimental, and computational approaches to Parkinson's disease research. NCER-PD aims at improving the diagnosis and stratification of Parkinson's disease to allow earlier diagnosis, preventive treatment, and personalised medicine.
The Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg (CHL) and the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) are among the partners of NCER-PD.
The CHL, together with the LCSB, is seeking to appoint a Physician-Scientist for specialisation training in Neurology to join the multi-disciplinary study team.
Your role
* Clinical care within inpatient and outpatient care at the Neurology Department of the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg
* Recruitment of patients for the cohort study of the National Centre of Excellence in Research on Parkinson's disease (NCER-PD)
* Setup and optimisation of workflows for patient recruitment
* Active participation in clinical studies for improved diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases
* Execution of scientific projects with national and international collaboration partners on research projects
* Perform clinical testing and neurological examinations
* Apply tests for assessing functions in different neurological disorders
* Teach students about clinical and research aspects of neurodegenerative disorders
* Present at public events for information of lay public or medical professionals
* Present research results at national and international scientific meetings
* Write and contribute to scientific publications and research grant applications
Your profile
* Medical degree (MD) recognized in Luxembourg and interest in specialisation training in Neurology
* Interest in clinical research on neurodegeneration
* Independent, highly motivated and committed
* Strong organisational skills
* Good interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to communicate effectively within multidisciplinary and international teams
* Fluent spoken and written French and/or German, proficiency in English, and willingness to generally improve fluency in languages
