About the role...
Workplace:
* Primarily for the campuses of Belval, occasional work on campus Kirchberg and Limpertsberg
Team :
* The successful candidate will integrate a team of 8 persons dealing with transversal safety and security aspects and 4 local safety officers in charge of the management of specific laboratory risks
* The internal experience of each member of the present team will help the candidate to be come rapidly operational. In order to stay up to date with the legislation and the requirements of the function, continuous training will be provided to the person
Missions :
* Assist the employer in risk analysis and risk management
* Conduct regular workplace inspections
* Identify training needs of staff on safety
* Analyze workplace accidents and propose preventive measures
* Assess demands from the UL entities in terms of improving working conditions
* Develop risk management procedures and instructions for projects in collaboration with the team.
* Coordinate legal obligations related to specific safety risks
* Carry out the tasks assigned to the designated worker
Your profile...
* Master degree in chemistry, biology or engineering. Any experience in the field of safety will be considered as a strong asset
* The candidate must complete the designated worker training course as soon as possible after taking up the position
* Between 2 and 5 years of professional experience
* Languages: Fluent in French or German and level B1 in English
* Demonstrated a strong interest for the Safety at work
* Demonstrated ability to communicate properly and establish trusted relationships with internal stakeholders
* Good knowledge of Luxembourgish safety workplace legislation
* A strong interest in the treatment of Authorizations will be appreciated
* Analytical skills leading to concrete solutions
* As the job requires presence in research laboratories, the job holder is expected to attend training courses with specialization in safety areas such as biosafety, laser safety, ionizing radiation, etc.
* The applicant must reside within one hour's drive of Luxembourg City, because of a possible on call duty
