Job Description
We are on the lookout for an interim Senior Legal Counsel (all genders) to join the Antitrust and Trade Law team as part of Delivery Hero’s Legal, Governance and Assurance department to support us for a year on our journey to always delivering amazing experiences.
The Antitrust and Trade Law team is responsible for Delivery Hero's competition and trade law matters globally, covering the 60+ jurisdictions where we operate. We are involved from the start on exciting M&A transactions, develop strategies in relation to competition investigations, and foster compliance efforts with competition and sanctions laws throughout the group. We are a dynamic team, regularly dealing with novel questions and coming up with innovative solutions to address both legal risks and business needs
1. Overseeing and advising on all aspects of competition law arising in the context of Delivery Hero’s global operations, including merger control, antitrust investigations and commercial agreements, across 70+ jurisdictions;
2. Providing pragmatic advice in relation to the structuring and risks of potential M&A transactions, including running multi-jurisdictional merger control and foreign direct investment filing assessments, advising on due diligence processes, transaction agreement clauses as well as post-merger integration processes, and overseeing filing processes;
3. Leading on antitrust investigations, including developing strategies and updating senior management on these investigations;
4. Guiding local legal teams on a wide range of competition law matters including on investigations and compliance questions across our jurisdictions and developing best practices;
5. Advising on international trade law, in particular on risk mitigation strategies related to EU and US sanctions laws;
6. Developing and providing training sessions and compliance programmes;
7. Coordinating and negotiating terms with external lawyers; and
8. Jumping into a dynamic work environment, tackling novel legal questions and developing innovative solutions that balance business needs with legal risks.
Qualifications
9. You have 5+ years of years of post-qualification experience working in both reputable international law firms and/or in-house positions in the fields of competition and trade law, preferably with experience advising platforms or tech companies;
10. You are an expert in EU competition law and are comfortable advising on all substantive and procedural aspects including merger control, vertical restraints, antitrust investigations and platform regulations;
11. You have experience dealing with antitrust/competition regimes in several jurisdictions around the globe;
12. You are familiar with global foreign direct investment regimes, the foreign subsidies regulations as well as with US and EU export control and sanctions laws;
13. You are organised and efficient, you have strong interpersonal skills and are a good communicator - you are able to provide clear and pragmatic advice to non-legal persons which can easily be put into practical effect; and
14. You have good all-round legal skills and are comfortable drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, for example supply of services or distribution agreements;
15. You are fully proficient in English (knowledge of German or other languages is considered an asset but not a requirement).
