BMW Group’s driving simulation team aims to offer the best driving simulation facilities in the automotive industry. In our brand-new driving simulation center we develop simulation technologies which enable us to experience the concepts of the future today.
As part of our team, you will conduct research related to simulator sickness. Despite large advancements regarding simulation technology, such as the simulator motion and visualization systems, simulator sickness remains a major challenge in today’s use of driving simulators, especially with more demanding driving scenarios. To achieve valid findings in user studies as well as for ethical reasons, it is important to prevent the occurrence of simulator sickness as best as possible. Your research will be targeted at proposing effective measures against simulator sickness.
What awaits you?
* You will work in a diverse development team and in a brand-new facility.
* Your scientific research will have a direct and practical application.
* You will develop and investigate methods to measure, predict, and reduce simulator sickness.
* You will execute scientific studies in our driving simulators.
* You will publish your work via international conferences and journals.
What should you bring along?
* Preferably university degree in human factors or human-computer interaction, potentially also: psychology, computer science, or engineering.
* Expertise in the following fields: human factors, test theory, statistics.
* Experience with programming (R, python).
* Experience with performing experiments would be a plus.
* A research interest in both technical aspects and human-factors aspects.
* Affinity with research, driving and/or the automotive industry would be a plus.
* Business fluency in English and/or German.
