Job Description As a Co-Head of our ARD Department, you’ll be an integral part of our management team, driving impactful projects and shaping the future of agriculture and rural development. Your role: Strategic Leadership : Define and execute the strategic direction for the ARD Department, ensuring financial sustainability and growth. Project Portfolio Development : Curate and expand our portfolio of long-term German development cooperation projects, technical assistance, and advisory services. Acquisition and Project Management : Lead the acquisition, management, and quality assurance of complex projects, making a tangible difference in communities. Team Management : Mentor and guide our talented staff within the ARD Department. Key Account Management: Cultivate relationships with important clients, fostering collaboration and trust. Cross-Departmental Coordination : Collaborate with other Dept. Heads, Managing Directors, HR/Administration, and department heads to achieve organizational goals. The department is headed by two Leads, one for ‘Agriculture’ and one for ‘Rural Development’; this opening concerns the Co-Head/Lead ‘Rural Development’. Requirements Education : a Master or PhD in agriculture, rural development, or a related field. Experience : Seven or more years of experience in development and implementation of development cooperation projects (e.g., GIZ, KfW, LuxDev, SDC, BMEL). Leadership : Proven ability to manage and mentor a team. Strategic Acumen : Experience in strategic portfolio development and acquisition is highly valued. Networks : Existing connections with German development cooperation organizations and other clients. Communication Skills : Very good communication and presentation abilities. Languages : Fluency in English and German; proficiency in French or Spanish is advantageous.
