Job Overview: The Civil Engineer uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to improve the Construction discipline within our Client's scope of work. They will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and share their conceptual and practical expertise related to the Construction discipline. The Civil Engineer solves complex problems and uses discipline-specific knowledge to improve their products or services. The Civil Engineer impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities with the Construction team and other related teams. It ensures they work within the appropriate guidelines and policies.Key Tasks and Responsibilities:Oversee all aspects of onshore construction projects, ensuring they are completed within time, budget, and quality constraintsCoordinate/assist discipline supervision and subcontractors to develop Construction Execution PlansDevelop construction execution plans, including site preparation, equipment installation, and commissioningConduct regular site visits to monitor progress and identify any issues that may impact the project schedule, budget, or qualityEnsure that all construction work conforms to all applicable regulations, standards, and quality requirementsManage subcontractors and vendors, ensuring their adherence to safety, quality, and contract termsMonitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation plansLiaise with engineering and procurement teams to ensure design and material specifications are metCoordinate project closeout activities, including punch list completion and turnover to operationsLead the development and implementation of safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment on EPCI project sitesProvide technical support to Construction on siteFulfill the role of Fremdfirmenkoordinator, as per German lawWork with the site civil superintendent to follow the progress of the worksInteract with Home Office and Civil Engineering Home Office and ensure timely civil and structural engineering AFC (Approved For Construction) deliverables.Review the Level 3 schedule in advance to be ready with the necessary information to maintain the work progressSupport the Quality Field Manager to identify the requirement from engineering in the ITP (Inspection Test Plan)Review, evaluate and approve/reject any intended changes and modifications by the civil subcontractor, interact with Home Office Civil Engineering when neededProvide adequate response to RFI (Request For Information) queries from the Civil Subcontractor and interact with Home Office Civil Engineering when neededPrepare the TQY to Client requesting the approval of deviations, if anyResponsible as Requisition Engineer for the Civil/Structural part of the Subcontract with the Civil Subcontractor and follow up on Subcontract Document List and related requirementsSupport if required the Quantity Surveyor to identify work done on the AFC drawings against unit ratesEssential Qualifications and Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field obtained in GermanyAt least 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in onshore construction, with a focus on engineering procurement construction and installation (EPCI) projectsStrong knowledge of construction methods, equipment, and materials used in the oil and gas industryAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsExcellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and stakeholdersFamiliarity with project management tools, such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft ProjectCertifications in project management, safety, or other relevant areas are preferredFluency in English & German (verbal & written)Microsoft office capabilityDriving license and car availableCAD operator as optional
