Job Description Summary Job Description Job Description The Contract Manager (CM) has a key role in the realization of medium, large and very large projects of the Energy Transition in Europe. As a part of the project execution team and in close cooperation with the project leaders as well as in alignment with the legal department, the CM overlooks, analyses, and clarifies the commercial and technical contractual rights and obligations of all stakeholders and thus has a major contribution to the execution and completion of turnkey projects in the required time and quality and also to the achievement of the commercial targets. Simultaneously, the CM is part of the European and worldwide GE Contract Management community and in constant exchange about strategies and lessons learned in other projects. From time to time the CM will be supporting the tendering team in negotiations of complex project contracts. Always her/his works is visible and will make a difference. Main Duties and Responsibilities: - Assume responsibility for the management of the client's main contract(s), subcontracts, and supplier contracts from the project commencement during the execution phases engineering, procurement, erection/installation, test/commissioning until handover/completion incl. warranty period, - ensure proper understanding of all stakeholders of the relevant contractual rights and obligations as well as the contractual scope of work, and provide contractual analysis and clarifications, including the definition and clarification of interfaces between the different project stakeholders as well as the involved companies and experts, - provide contract(s) analysis and identify client's, consortium partners, subcontractor's and other third-party rights and obligations, and identify relevant risks and opportunities, - develop together with the project leaders project execution strategies and procedures in order to ensure best management of risks and opportunities, - set up in accordance with the relevant GE policies and implement procedures to manage variations, changes and claims incl. insurance cases, - support and guide the project management team in general contractual issues, clarify contractual/legal queries in close collaboration with Legal, work in close cooperation with the project director regarding contractual aspects of sourcing/procurement, commercial & finance, engineering, standards and specifications, site management, erection, commissioning, testing and the taking over / handover to the client, - set up and draft subcontracts, pass-through the main terms and conditions from the main contract into subcontracts and supplier purchase orders and lead the negotiations based on the strategy aligned with the management and the project directors, - establish and implement a project communication and reporting in acc. with the contractual and legal requirements, - identify in close cooperation with the project management teams obstructions, missing preconditions, scope changes, potential delays or required acceleration, analyze the impact on contractual milestones, ensure notices are given in line with contract requirements, prepare change and variation orders, prepare cost, EoT and insurance claims, - support the warranty service teams in terms of notification of defects and remedy actions. Required - Engineer, Legal with technical understanding, or similar - bachelor's degree or similar with at least 2 years of experience in construction projects, - experience in EPC projects desired, - demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve issues, - strong analytical and risk assessment skills, - strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-up, - proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access), - excellent communication skills, - fluent in English and German, both spoken and written, - willingness to travel ca. 20% mainly in Germany, - based in the GE Berlin or Dresden office- partial remote work from home office possible.
