Describe the role:
As the COO, you will be a critical member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO. You will be responsible for developing and executing the operational strategy, ensuring efficiency, and fostering a culture of excellence within the Operations Business Unit. You will play a pivotal role in scaling the company, optimizing resources, and achieving our ambitious revenue goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans and objectives for the Operations Business Unit, aligning them with the overall company vision.
2. Operational Excellence: Drive operational efficiency, optimize production planning based on sales forecasts, and implement value stream improvements to reduce processing time and costs.
3. Resource Management: Effectively manage and optimize resource utilization, striving for a <10% scrap rate. Experience working with limited resources is essential.
4. Supply Chain Optimization: Establish and maintain a robust supply chain strategy, including a 0-Stock-Out strategy based on SCM instruments (DABMIII) combined with KanBan principles, and a 2nd SUP strategy for crisis-proof raw material supply.
5. Performance Improvement: Improve delivery performance and service levels, achieving ambitious targets.
6. Team Leadership: Motivate, coach, and guide management staff, ensuring effective people management and performance management within the Operations Business Unit.
7. Project Implementation: Oversee the implementation of key projects.
8. Financial Oversight: Possess a strong financial understanding of operations, including SCM and cash conversion cycle, to drive profitability and optimize financial performance.
What You Need:
1. Above average University degree in Business Administration or Engineering. (Executive) MBA or equivalent preferred.
2. Minimum 5-10 years of management/leadership experience with proven project successes and revenue relevance.
3. Experience in the medical device manufacturing industry is highly preferred.
4. Essential Skills:
5. Expertise in Production Line Processing: Deep understanding of production line processes and optimization techniques.
6. Value Stream Mapping (VSM) Experience: Proven experience in implementing and leveraging VSM to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
7. ERP Implementation Experience: Hands-on experience with ERP system implementation and optimization.
8. Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective solutions.
9. Reliability: A proven track record of consistently delivering results and meeting deadlines.
10. "Win at All Costs" Attitude: A relentless drive to succeed and a commitment to achieving ambitious goals.
11. Scalability Focus: Experience in scaling operations to support rapid company growth.
12. Knowledge of key business processes including finance, IT, marketing, Quality Management and HR.
13. Understanding of laws and regulations applicable to the medical device industry.
14. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
15. Fluency in German and English languages.
16. High moral standards and professional integrity.
Working Conditions:

3. Business travel as required.
