And right now, we’re looking for an Isotopes Financial Controller.
Based at either our Gronau or Almelo Site location you’ll report to the Head of Finance UTD, with an indirect reporting line to the Head of Isotopes, the role directs, controls, and oversees all financial activities for the Isotopes business units, including accountability for budgeting, reporting, and supporting current financial reports as well as summaries and forecasts for future business growth and general economic outlook. Primary objectives include providing accurate and timely financial reports, monitoring budgets and cost controls, maintaining internal control systems, developing strategies for financial growth, and supporting senior management in decision making. You will also support UTD Head of Finance and the Head of Isotopes with the appraisal of investment opportunities, delivery of decision-making material and managing the financial aspects of any approved transactions.
What will your day look like as Financial Controller?
* Key member of the Isotopes leadership team contributing to the strategy, plans and direction to drive forward the growth ambition and to drive efficiency in existing business.
* Directs, manages and is accountable for all financial activities associated with the Isotopes businesses. Financial control of €20m revenue business growing to €100m plus (target €300m), with an associated capital investment growth portfolio (€10-50m p.a.)
* Develop a culture of financial performance, cost awareness and revenue targets and margin to support the delivery of a high profits Isotopes businesses.
* Active role including challenging investment opportunities ensuring financial data is robustly prepared ensuring value to Urenco. Influencing senior stakeholders in the development and monitoring of capex expenditure plans.
* Lead finance role for investment transactions to realise the Isotopes growth strategy, including acquisitions, partnerships, commercial arrangements, etc. Specifically, the role should ensure that investments are expected to deliver a required level of return, manage and / or perform proportionate due diligence, set up in an optimum corporate structure, and be a key member of that project team.
* Have a strong understanding of Financial Accounting to ensure compliance with local GAAP and Group Financial reporting standards, providing technical financial advice and knowledge, working with other Group Finance teams including tax, to ensure that transactions are structured in the most efficient and effective manner.
* Performs reviews of internal controls, project risks and emerging issues and safeguarding of assets to ensure compliance with Group policies and procedures.
* Provide financial review and perspective on any contracts into which the business unit may enter.
What do you need to be great at this role?
* Education - Degree in business, finance, or accounting.
* Fully qualified accountant with at least 8 years of related work experience.
* Financial Controller or equivalent for a company / division.
* Strong financial accounting and technical expertise.
* Experience of corporate transactions and delivering growth opportunities.
* Experienced in working with senior stakeholders, to provide robust challenge and influence where required.
* A strong communicator who is experienced in presenting and providing financial oversight and review of business cases and proposals.
* Advanced PowerPoint and Excel user.
* Knowledge of SAP financial systems is desirable.
* Ability to prioritise effectively, react quickly and work under pressure and to deadlines.
